Driving and Safety Tips:

When you arrive at the airport and get your rental car, ask for a map from the rental agent!

Before making a trip to your attraction destination, look at a map to determine your route. This will make you more confident when driving, keeping your mind on the road!

If you get lost, pull over safely, off of the thoroughfare, to the side of the road. Only do this in a well occupied or well lit area. Feel uncomfortable doing so at that time, proceed till you feel comfortable with your surroundings. You may lose a total of five minutes off your travel time.
    Do Not Stop
and look at your map in the middle of any road or browse it while you are driving!

Study this map when you are in your Vacation Villa at night or prior to your departure. Get familiar with the names of the roads you will need to take. When you do this and actually drive, you will have a better understanding of where you are.

In America, drive on the right side of the road. Remember this because the steering wheel is on the left side of the car.

Slower Traffic should travel in the right lane! This is a simple rule of the road. Even if you feel you are in the rite (right), avoid aggravation by reading the next part of this tip! Although the roads are full of speeding individuals, be courteous and safe, pull over to the right lane when being overtaken by another vehicle from the rear.

Use your turn indicators when making any directional change such as turns, or lane changes. Let the other drivers know what you are going to do, don't assume they know.

A safe distance between the vehicle in front of you is a minimum of two car lengths, Use the two second rule, it's pretty safe. One problem we have in America is that too many drivers are in a hurry to get no where, be cautious and be aware of impatient drivers! The best practice is to laugh to yourself and let them have their foolish head's!

Obey all posted speed limits and try to move with the flow of traffic. Nothing is worse than a driver who is lost, looking at a map while driving 30 mph in a 65 mph zone!

Speeding will be penalized by fines, in some areas, fines are doubled! Driving below the posted minimum is also an infraction and will also be subject to penalty or fines.

Avoid any altercation with any individuals. Do not acknowledge their frustration and don't show any of your own.

Read all road signs and obey all directions!

Keep your car doors locked at all times!

Seat belts are mandatory and punishable by fines if not utilized!

All children are to be seat belted or in a certified child safety restraint. Forgot to bring one, most rental car agencies will rent them to you. Keep your kids safe at all times, not when it is convenient!

Most Important! Always be aware of your surroundings and travel in pairs, do not make any shortcuts. Don't travel or walk alone. Do not carry all of your vacation money with you at once. Don't carry cash, most places accept travelers checks. This way if you lose it, you won't lose it all! Find a safe place in your Villa to hide it!

Most Areas of the States are supported by the 3 digit phone number (911) for emergencies such as Medical, Fire, and Police! This is not an information number, so please don't call if you are locked out of your villa or your car.
Use this number for Emergencies only!
