Horse Grooming Supplies - Horses and Their Humans
I grew up on a farm in Idaho, many, many, many years ago. We
had horses. Something I learned and never forgot through those
years is that special bond that grows between a horse and the human
it owns. That's right, the human it owns.
To that end, I was doing some research recently on horse
grooming supplies and other retail
horse products. When reviewing horse
grooming supplies I seemed to be reading the menu of a high end
beauty salon and spa. A few shared examples should help to make the
point:
- Hair extensions for the horse's tail. This is for show horses breeders if the association
allows it. These hair extensions compare in price and availability
to those from a salon.
- Upwards of ten different types and prices of shampoos and
conditioners. Some reaching the capability and prices of the high
end shampoos and conditioners you would purchase in a salon.
- Coat and skin care products formulated to keep the coat shiny
and the skin free of unsightly blemishes.
- Vitamins for hair growth. This is probably a strategy to not
have to pay for hair extensions for the tail.
- Highlighters to provide different accents to the horse's coat
followed by polishes and shiners for their hooves.
- Every brand and price range of clippers and blades that are
available for barbers and stylists that do human hair.
- Finally, they have vacuums and blowers that compare to any
dryers and vacuums in the salon.
From a horse health standpoint, the comparisons are equally as
strong. For example:
- Fly and pest controls that are all natural with a citrus base
rather than a chemical DEET base.
- Supplements formulated specifically for young, middle aged or
more senior horses.
- Aspirin doses developed for daily horse heart care.
- Calming aids, digestive aids, immune support and antioxidants,
respiratory aids, ulcer and gastric aids.
- Horse trainers suggests that
books that deal with holistic horse care, feeding herbs to horses
and formulations for detoxifying the liver and kidneys.
- Finally, they have a natural formulation for those thoroughbred horses lucky enough to be
laboring on the stud farms.
Well, I have probably substantiated the original point. Most
any health and beauty supplies available to you are also available
to the horse that owns you.
